So finally....... we have done our first investigation!
This was in an unexpected place, which unfortunately has to remain anonymous by request. We were also asked not to use video cameras which we respected, despite this making the investigation harder to get solid evidence.
Despite this we went tools in hand and here were the results:
LOCATION – Anonymous
This was by request of the client. We were happy with this as they allowed us to complete our first investigation. Both myself (Pete) and Dave were present on the night.
REPORTS – The client had reported various paranormal activities. The focus of these were in two places. The basement and the garage that was attached to the property. The basement was a standard basement, but by all means creepy! Reports were voices and shuffling that happened regularly. On one occasion the junction box tripped in the basement and the client went down to switch it back on. He said upon turning it on he heard a chuckle, and the junction box tripped again. The client switched it back on and returned upstairs quite spooked by this as he felt he wasn't alone.
The attached garage had several reports from the clients family. Again voices and shuffling were most regular but on one occasion the clients wife had seen a man “looking at a shelf” and he turned and walked through a wall. The wall once had a door to the house which had since been blocked.
Activity in the house was said to have calmed down and nothing had happened in some time. We decided just to investigate the two rooms where the most activity was due to limited equipment.
EQUIPMENT – Since the client requested no video cameras we were very limited to what we could use. In tow was a K2 meter (made my Dave's own hands!), 2 digital cameras, a voice recorder, night vision goggles and a highly experimental G1 Android phone (this was to test out the possibility of the metal detector app picking up EMF, and was also used as a digital voice recorder – phone was in aeroplane mode to prevent interference).
INVESTIGATION – We started our investigation at around 11pm with a hope to catching some evidence to show the client. Things started slowly with the first paranormal experience being that of a cold spot. This seemed to appear in the basement after we had been in there a while.

The night was quite mild outside, so the basement wasn't that cold anyway (unlike the garage which was freezing) but the cold spot seemed to move slightly across the room. Unfortunately as we had no type of thermometer we couldn't get any reads or even say how much the temperature appeared to drop.
Due to this we can only put this down to a personal experience.
Again things appeared to slow down after this and very little happened from this point.
We did appear to get an EMF hit on Dave's device but it only flashed twice to a question we asked and then didn't flash again. With this being the case, we can't assume that this was paranormal.

We also tested the G1 as an EMF detector but due to lack of any activity this wasn't a good time to be testing it. Although we didn't get any evidence on it, it also didn't give any false readings so this is something I will test on another investigation.
As the rest of the night didn't seem to produce much we wrapped up so we could examine the evidence the next day.
ANALYSIS – Upon examining all the photos we took on the night unfortunately nothing showed up. This was fairly disappointing as the client had a lot of reports to give us but we failed to get any evidence to back these up.
The one thing that did turn up was an EVP. When I was rambling away a noise was picked up in the background that wasn't heard on the night. The noise seems quite general and there is no voice. Neither me or Dave seem to respond to the sound so it appears we didn't hear it at the time, however it could simply have been something we kicked by accident and again we can't commit this to being paranormal.
In all the investigation was good, but disappointing that we didn't catch anything. We can't possibly say this place is haunted with the evidence we got, but the client is known to both of us and we doubt they would lie about the activity that happened. We have been told we can investigate here again so we will have to return in the hope we catch some evidence.
Here's to the next investigation!
