Jonathan Fell had previously been threatened with an Asbo by Brighton and Hove city council, who warned the 51-year-old to keep the Lakeland terrier on a lead.
Bodhi, a YouTube star whose skills have been highlighted on Britain's Got Talent, is a familiar sight in Brighton, what with his repertoire of kerbside stunts and all.
'Bodhi is always under control. He loves skateboarding and is not a criminal,' said the legendary pooch's owner.
'It's something that makes people laugh. I never trained him to skateboard, it's just what he loves to do.'
Mr Fell has 14 days to pay his fine, otherwise he will face legal action - including a possible £1,000 penalty.
'We know Bodhi's antics are an amusing sight and the dog and spectators appear to enjoy it,' said a spokesperson for the council.
'But when people start getting hurt and we receive complaints we have a legal duty to act.
'Bodhi remains free to skate in local parks - but not in dog-free areas.'
